This IRS fraud scam -- another site said. Leaves voice mail. "Case file... garbled with phone number. DO NOT give any info to them. IRS doesn't call people, they communicate by mail only.
It wasn't the IRS as they only communicate via a CERTIFIED LETTER sent through the USPS, not via email, phone, text, fax, or anything else. Scammers take advantage of people who do not know this. The more people know, the fewer people will believe the scammers, cutting into their money flow
This is another scam. The IRS DOES communicate via regular mail, by phone and sometimes by fax - not by e-mail or text. But they won't contact you out of the blue like these scammers; you'll know why the IRS is contacting you. -- Retired IRS employee.
