This is a total scam. This has happened to others. This group makes a habit of pretending they are associated with law enforcement in some vague way. This guy Murphy, likes to put the title "Investigator" before this name. The only purpose here is intimidation. They like to imply that there's a case against you in your county. It's a stupid scam, because they faili to realize that all you have to do is go to the local Sheriff or police station and tell them what happened and hey can check it for you. They change phone numbers regularly and will never give you their address. Personally I think they are a kitchen-table debt scamming operation working out of New York.
Don't call them back. Don't talk to them. Block their calls.

The more information and complaints there are, the better the chance of getting these criminals to stop (or at least reduce the frequency).
They continue to bother you, tell them you are going to the police to make a complaint of extortion.

I just received a call from this idiot and I am not even the one they are trying to locate. Someone used me for a reference and they called me since the person is no longer available. I contacted my lawyer immediately as I know it is illegal to leave any such information on a voicemail for anyone and I am not the one they need to speak to!!! Also, they are impersonating offcers-I work for a police dept.
Received a phone message on 9/12 at 1:15pm from a person identiying himself as Officer Danville stating I needed to contact him as he had a subpoena from a lawfirm by the name of ATR & Associates regarding a business matter and that I needed to give him a call by the end of the business day... I know this is not legit. The number he called from was 214-919-4142. I looked up that number and realized he was probably a scammer. I also tried to look up ATR & Associates Law Firm and this business or Lawfirm is not located in Texas. This really upsets me. I did not call them back and unfortunately cannot block their number from my work phone. I do have caller ID so I will just have to ignor their calls...
