Received a collect call today from this # and it asked for a credit card # stating it was a collect call from my sons friend. It has my sons friend voice on it. I knew he was going to Texas so I thought something was wrong and input my cc # but the system said it was declined which it shouldn't been. Now I am afraid that was a big mistake. Called the number back and answering message that the call couldnt be completed.
Caller mad ethemsleves out to be a phonen operator. They said that someone was trying to get thorugh to me. BUt that my phoe would not except collect calls. That they needed my credit card number for this call to go thorugh. Like that was going to happen. I told them I do not know a Lori and that I do not have Credit cards. They soon hung up. It was from the 214 969 5498. I have called verizon and my local police department and not have called the FBI. Because it is a call form out of state nothign can be done about it. This is possible Credit card fruad.If info was to get out there. I heard prisoners do this and use the credit card info for their own gain. How sad it that?
Got a call today (10/2/07) from 214.969.5489. It tried to get me to accept a collect call from an inmate in the Meriwether County Correctional facility. I do not ever bail out freinds and my family never goes to jail so I did not accept the call. I figured this was some kind of scam. Real glad I did not! Now I wish I could figure out who is ripping people off so i can KICK THEIR [***] [***]!
this number came up and i answered it and they hung up as soon as I said hello. I googled it and it came up with a ton of websites like this one.... wonder what the deal is
my wife got a call from this number. the operator said there was a collect call from a "Kevin". we don't know anyone named Kevin. The call came from Dallas Texas. WE think it is a scam. BEWARE.
