Tried to hustle me. Called me and asked me to go on my computer and give him remote access because the company he represents knows my computer has been picking up malicious software. Then he says, " You are running a Windows operating system, right?" Then repeats himself a little more forcefully.
I ask him, "Are you guessing? How about you tell me which one (operating system) since you seem to have followed the malware to me. Did you link my email with my phone number, or ping my computer? You even think my name is Ma'am!"
Caller had heavy accent, stated his name was John, lots of background noise in unknown language(s), stated he was from Windows support and there is a problem with my computer. I am well aware of this scam, so I asked the caller if he was aware he had reached the Sheriff's office (not true) and that he could be arrested for his illegal scamming activity, he said "Please delete my call Madame" and quickly hung up. HA!
That response (while admittedly humorous) falls under "impersonating an officer", and can actually land you heavy fines and even a bit of Jail time. I don't think many people realize this, so I thought I'd let you know. Thank you for the laugh though!

"Sick of Liars" -- thanks for reporting this number. Lately, I've had many calls from them that I haven't answered. How many times are these idiots going to call from different numbers spouting the same crap? It's a shame we can't gather all these creeps together and drop a building on them. They might have some value as fertilizer.
Anyone who works at a company making these calls is a liar and a thief. Hope you get what's coming to you.
