I got a call from this number. They say it is the "law firm of Silver and Associates" but the account they are calling about was listed with NCB Managment Services. As usual, I only have a certain number of days before "the attorney" may pull the file and recommend legal action. Whenever I receive a call from Mike Shannon of Silver and Associates he says it is regarding a legal matter pending. I don't trust this place...
Calls from this number claim to be a law firm and threaten you to pay old credit card debt. They threaten to sue and to garnish wages if you do not pay immediately. First: they are NOT attorneys, they are meerely a collection agancy called NCB Management Services, Second: they are paid on a commission basis, ie. if you "settle your debt" that was originally $1000.00 for $500.00 this collection agency gets their cut first ( the rep calling and harrassing you, the reps boss, the bosses wife, etc.: they go out to a nice big dinner on your money), then and only then if there is any left over of what you paid to "settle your debt" that finally goes towards the orginal debt, Lastly: the original creditor can still come after you for the full amount if they choose too (this does not happen often, too costly for them)and you basically just threw out the window the money you paid to "settle your debt". Final thought: Do not be intimidated by these jerks, that only feeds their already huge egos. When they call, and they will, just stay calm and politely say" Please do not bother me again in regards to this debt", they will start feeding you crap about being sued, wage garnishment, etc., then politely say " Speak with my Trustee, goodbye". Whatever you do DO NOT offer any of your personal information and DO NOT confirm any of your personal information for them. Stay consistent and stick to your guns. Take your own family to a nice dinner and not theirs...
