The caller identified as Oasis Energy and said they could save me 8% on my electricity rate. They said I have have been authorized by my utility company to be qualified for this program. The woman said all I needed to do was to answer some questions and she would find out for me how much I could save; not telling me that the series of questions was my verbal confirmation for enrollment. Something felt fishy and so I hung up the phone before first question, and went on the web to find out about this company. I had given some personal info and was afraid I might have been inadvertently enrolled. I called my utility company right away to make sure that my service is not switched by a third party. I think I've escaped this SCAM by the skin of my teeth. This company would be legit if they would only be upfront about who they are and what they do, and offer their service in writing. Instead, their agents were vague, unprofessional, and misleading.
Dead air. I feel that the telemarketers on the other end leave their mute buttons on for long periods of time. I get calls like these and leave the speakerphone on for a few minutes and eventually the salesperson chimes in.
They just called with dead air then a sales person came on pretending to give me a discount on my PEPCO bill. I'm in Maryland why are you calling form Philly with a 215 number. Scammers, beware...
