The caller gave his name and James Cooper. He left a message on my phone saying he was holding a Certified Check for me. When I returned his call he just answered "Hello". When I asked if this was a business call, he then said "Oh yes, I'm from the Federal Reserve Bank. I then told him my name and he said he was holding a Certified Check for me. When I asked him who the check was from he said something to the effect that it was some kind of National Lottery. I told him I had not entered any lottery, he then said I was randomly chosen. When I told him I was not interested he then said he was ending the call and would award it to someone else and hung up. Before I called him I checked to see where the area code came from and then when the call was ended, I suspected a scam and found this info on Google
James stated he was from the Federal Reserve Bank and needed to verify some personal information in order to send me a check. I asked for an email address or website so I could confirm his identity and he continued to give me his phone number and then said for me to go to the Federal Reserve bank website, but would not give me an actual website or email address. I said no. He said thank you and hung up. SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He called from the Federal Reserve Bank and gave his name as Bobby Baltimore and said he had a $1,000 certified check in my fathers name (I'm a Jr. and happened to catch the call).
He gave 215-971-9753 as the Pittsburgh Federal Reserve Office.
"Bobby Baltimore" said I could call back to confirm his number and provide 5 pieces of personal information!
I'm glad I caught the call and not my 79 year old father!
