I received a devastated call from this particular number stating I owed an outstanding judgement! They had information about me that was not given by me and they contacted people I knew. I am too through it is bad enough that the economy is messed up and things happen financially but why would you try to take the little money individuals have to survive with.
I did, it was also fraud division about a class action law suit against me? It's a scam. Do not give any of your personal info to them. They also will contact people who know you about you.
I got a call from this number and honestly she scared the hell out of me. She said that I had a felony charge because the payday loan i got was federal funds. That people were going to come and get me and extradite me back to Texas I was going to go to court and jail if I didnt send 924.14. She would send me paperwork after I paid. She said to send it through moneygram. I spoke to some friends and called the police. I also spoke to Cashnet USA who they said they were part of. They assured me that this was a scam payday loans are privately owned and they dont deal with the government. The lady told me I had till 1:30 today to pay or "officials" would come knocking on my door. While I have gotten alot of information that this is all a scam I cant help but still be a little scared,
File reports with the FBI, State attorney General, FTC & FCC. Your information was correct and there is no reason for you to be scared! It will also help if you read some of the other threads here, also the laws either at the FTC site or from the Latest articles on the right side bar..
These are extortion/scams/frauds. Its a civil matter and they can't arrest you let alone extradite you back to texas! Now if you do owe a debt, they can take you to court, but they have provide proof you owe it, delinquent in payments and have not payed it. The best they can do is get a judgment in court. Owing money is not a crime! Again, read up on your rights and the laws. States also have statue of limitations as well.
As long as your loan company is getting its payments, and they say your good, then all is well!
