Received a second call from 216-452-2237 on 9/27/2013 at 6:52pm EDT. This time the caller ID displayed "Cleveland OH".
Since I have already blocked this number through Google Voice my phone only rang once and the caller automatically received the "out of service" message.
Based on the comments posted here it appears that this is another number being used by the Canadian Pharmacy scam. I have received regular calls from them since June 2009.
To the folks who are trying to find a way to get the calls to stop I can only say that after 4 years of regular calls I have not found anything that will get them to stop. They change numbers often and do not honor requests to be removed or the do-not-call list.
The only effective remedy appears to be to block the new numbers as soon as they appear and use 800notes to warn others.
Got another Canadian Pharmacy call yesterday answered by a person with a heavy Indian accent trying to sell drugs to a person named Mark. I'm pretty sure they use spoofed voip numbers with an auto-dialer that cycles through some database of phone numbers they have on file to try and sell prescription drugs illegally.
And boy are they persistent. My phone's entire call reject list is filled with phone numbers used by these scam artists and I have to keep deleting old ones every couple of weeks when they start calling me using a new number.
This is what I get for changing my phone number a couple of years ago. Almost time to change it yet again as there seems to be no way to get rid of these scumbags *sigh*.
