Gentleman called, I played along to learn who this was.
He asked to speak with the person who handled our local (Pepco) electric bill. I never said that I did and redirected the conversation by appearing to take down the information for the person who could help him.
Said he is from Direct Energy
Was calling to "apply a reduction" he said. We would reduce our pepco bill by 30% if we used them (Direct Energy) as a "preferred supplier"
Thanked him for the information, then said someone would be with him shortly.
Placed him on hold and then continued on with my day. For all I know, he is still there! :-)
We have been getting several calls from this number within the last few weeks. When we answer they would just hang up but today was different. They called and we let the answering machine pick up. They left a message that simply said "[***] hole". Now this is sad. They have nothing better to do than to harrass businesses.
