the number called and I got a machine that said "This is not a sales call." Sounds like a bill collector. Revenue Group. Called for someone who doesn't live here.
I had previously set up a payment schedule with the Revenue Group, yes I was delinquent to the The Celeveland Clinic so it was a viable debt. The rep was actually very nice, treated me like a human being by understanding that I could not necessarily pay a $3000 co-pay immediately. But it was downhille from there, I continued to get calls, then they started taking out more money then I approved. My bank wouldn't do anything because it was an automatted withdrawl transaction.
I ended up contacting the BBB and the Vice President of The Revenue Group actually responded in writing to the BBB calling me a "dead beat" and that he didn't "want to be bothered with complaints like mine". They stole over $270 from my checking account the first month, bounced numerous transactions to other creditors and the VP didn't want to bothered. I finally threatened to file a small claims lawsuit against them which got their attention quickly. They settled out of court for the value of the money stolen and covered all NSF charges from the bank. But the whole ordeal took 3 months.
The Cleveland Clinic agreed to a direct payment schedule due to the mess I had with The Revenue Group. But I started to get calls from them again a couple weeks ago. Cleveland Clinic stated that even if I have an agreed upon payment schedule with them, if there is an unpaid balance deliquent over 90 days ithe account is automatically sent to collections. It is unbelievable that The Cleveland Clinic being a non-profit organization cannnot understand that patients may not be able to afford to pay $3000 immediately. But seems to have the financial resources to outsource with a collections service like The Revenue Group. Shame on you Cleveland Clinic!
And yes.....the number 216 763 2140 will appear on your phone literally every hour if not more frequently, they never leave a voicemail. I have had them call at 8am Saturday morning and all Saturday afternoon, I have even gotten calls on Sunday evening. It does not help to send letters, and good luck with the "harrassment" claim, there is no goverment or state entity that would enforce it. I have tried. I even asked Verizon to block the number, but they can't. Honestly, it is best to find out who the creditor is that owns the account and try to make arrangements with them directly.
