We just had a similar call from this number; when we asked them to remove us from their call list, they (another person came on the line) asked us to stay on the line for two full minutes for that to be complete (not sure what that was all about), then when my husband told them this number is on the do not call list and they were not legally permitted to call us, the guy got very rude and vulgar (telling him to f***k himself and when he advised them that 'his wife' is an attorney and would take it up he told him to give the phone to me b/c he was "[***]"). Seriously? Has to be THE most obnoxious telemarketing/scam call ever. Oh - all had Indian accents too (sad for me to say as I am also East Indian) - apparently originating out of India. Clearly a totally illegal/illegitimate operation as no lawful operation (even if the most pushy/aggressive of telemarketers) would ever permit THAT sort of behavior.
same as noted by others... calls from "rachel" about credit card rates-- pressed '1' until some guy came on the phone - i asked what it was about, he said it was about lowering rates on visa cards.. i said not interested, remove from his list-- he said "...thanks and go f**k yourself..."
Same thing happened to me...I had numerous calls regarding lowering my credit card interest rates and I would press 3 to be removed from their list...They kept calling anyway. So today I pressed 9 to speak with someone and insisted that I be removed from their list. An Indian woman said if I wanted to be removed from their call list I would have to hold on for 2 minutes. When she came back she said "We are not removing you from their list so you can just BUZZ-OFF...and hung up...click.
Me too. I received may calls from this number with no message left. Finally got a call on Oct 17, 2011 and answered it. I pressed 9 to speak to a live person and ask them to stop calling me because I am on the do not call registry. They used foul language, told me to get lost and hung up on me. They would not identify their organization (if you call it that).
