I received a call from this number making the same claims as David indicated - calling from Microsoft Technical Department because my computer was downloading terrible viruses." The only difference was that it was a woman calling. When I asked why Microsoft didn't appear on my caller ID, she hung up.
Man with an accent called saying he was from Microsoft computers and that my computer had viruses and wanted me to give him access to my computer. I hung up on him. Phoenix Arizona here
I got a call from 288-918-6555. Man told me that 2 weeks ago it was reported to him that I had a virus on my computer and he can help fix it for me. I told him that he sounds like a big scam.....He started to tell me that he was not a scam.....I hune up
This Indian/Pakistani [***] called and tried to run the same scam on me butI told him I had his number on caller-id and that I was going to report him to the authorities and then he called me an idiot then hung-up. I would love to slit this [***] throat.
