Received a call from 218-936-8933 during the day while at work - left automated message about lowering credit card rate also advised that this was the last time I would be receiving this offer (I could only hope to be so lucky). Received call at 5:40 pm of the same day. Answered call and hit #1 to speak directly to a person. Very rude person answered - advised him I don't carry a balance on my one and only credit card and that I was on the National Do Not Call Registry. Asked him to take me off his list. I let him know that I would be reporting his number to the NDNCR and he told me he owned the company (called Account Services) and his Uncle was a Federal Attorney and would not allow anyone to hurt his Nephew or his Nephew's company; so it would be in my best interest to not report him. I took this as a threat!! Area code is for Minnesota and I will be sending a complaint to their Attorney General.
Someone calling themself Dominick is giving out my name and phone number in one of your rooms... i have men calling me with some pretty nasty stuff, please do something to end this situation.

The number is a party line. Companies like the one that called you or bill collectors regularly make calls while altering their caller i.d. I receive calls that are very similiar to my number. They think because I am broke I also am stupid. FYI bill collectors are legally only allowed to call cell phones if that number was used on the credit application. The people calling me are breaking this rule. I haven't found out if the debt can be erased because of this.
