In that case, tell "Mia" that it's against the law for her to be on the other end of the line if you answer it. "Mia" is a fraud. Strictly as a guess, I'd say she's probably one working out of the Atlanta metro area. Possibly upstate SC. Maybe the Charlotte, NC vicinity. But, most likely the Atlanta area.
Do a search & look up your rights under the FDCPA. It's easy. You can understand them. Then tell "Mia" you've done so the next time she calls. While "Mia" launches in to a tirade, make yourself a nice cup of tea. Sit back, relax. Listen in as "Mia" makes it evident why she's on blood pressure medications that aren't going to help. One day "Mia" is going to stroke out. She'll do so broke & lonely. "Mia" is a Bogus/Fraudulent debt collector. The only people close to her are no different than she is. "Mia" is a sorry person indeed...
If "Mia" regains enough composure to do anything other than hang up, tell her that you've visited this site. Tell her that Gunnar says "Hi!". Tell her that we all wish her the best & that we hope the aneurysm is operable....
Be Safe. Be Aware.
