I also got a message left on my machine from 229-299-4399, Ext #118. A man with a heavy Indian accent who identified himself as "Justin" claimed he was from "florida investigations". The tone of his message was a clear threat. The same voice had left a similar message several weeks ago, but from a different phone number 760-483-3761. He even ended his call the same way...." (my first name) if I do not hear from you or your attorney immediately I wish you luck".
This is a "phantom payday loan" scam. Almost two months ago I had investigated payday loans. I was in a tight place, but luckily a friend was able to help me out. I DID NOT approve or accept any of the multiple offers that came through then and or are still coming through my e-mail. Unfortunately the information the payday loans website required to even start the process of searching for lenders is now out in cyber space. A search on both phone numbers show they are cell phones or landlines belonging to an indiviual, not a company. I left a message on their answering machine demanding they following the fair debt practices act and requesting a formal letter identifing their collection agency, phone number, name of agent, company they are representing and the amount owed of the claimed debt. Companies are REQUIRED to send a letter first, then a follow up letter. I work in fraud and merchant disputes in a bank. These kinds of scams are unfornately common these days when many people are experinencing tough financial times
Demand your rights and check out the numbers on the internet. DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY OR GIVE FURTHER CONFIDENTAL INFORMATION. These b***** are counting on your embarassment and fear.
I have been receiving many calls from different numbers stating that I owe Bank of AMerica money and if I dont pay they will sue me, they were both Indian one named Justin and then he put a so called attorney on the line. They refuse to send me any documents to confirm who and what I owed the money for and threaten to sue me. I was going to send them money til I saw these posts on google. I told them if they were legal they could send me info but they refused. I am about to call Bank of America now.
I recieved a call from a guy named Marco,that spoke with an Indian accent. He said he was from Federal credit bureau in the state of Georgia. I knew it was fraudulent from recieving other calls similar to this one. And thank God for Google search engine. I was also informed that other numbers I investigated were from prepaid cell phones from the country of India. So anyways I called this recent caller from 229-299-4399. I blocked my number of course which he the phone rang about 30 times before he picked up. I advised him of the results of my investigation, he said Thank you. I also am a victim of predatory loan practices from pay day loans. To anyone suffering financially, stay away from payday loans.From a proud American!!!!
