I have been getting calls also from a caller that said she was raising money for breast cancer. I cannot verify the number because I do not have caller id. She was able to give me the web site of www.BCRSF.org. That is more than most fund raiser can do. So far they have been pleasant, though the web site is sparse. I am very careful who I donate to, so will not donate to this charity until I can find more info on them. I am very skeptical of the comment from Larry and the web site he recommended. Something doesn't ring true.
I know you are frustrated by being called by so many people. But many helpful organizations have been begun by people whose mother, father, brother or sister has had a traumatic problem and have given their lives to help others. Unfortunately there are others who prey on the goodwill of others. The secret is to tell the difference.
We are fortunate to live in a country where we have the ability to help others. Many others are not so fortunate. Let's be open to helping each other, but wise also.
