Why in the world do people call and say nothing - no telephone ID to know who is calling. Don't people realize that everyone is scared to death of scams, thieves, and other safety concerns.
after reading all your responses I thought I would call them back. It was answered with the message that this number is no longer in service and they only called me 10 minutes before. It surely must be a scam and I will never answer them
This scam has been going on for years. Telemarketing scams are the new email spams. Once you get a call, you will get many many more, 100% of the time, it is the same criminal, just different day, and different fake number.
Criminals want you to act on impulse. There is no service, no computer help, no home warranty, no lower interest rate, no medical help, no company, no service, JUST THEFT. That's all, theft. All they want is your financial information. Your money, your identity, your credit card information, your bank account info. That's it!!! Sadly, people fall for this scam every day.
NEVER EVER give out personal information over the phone. NEVER! Not full name, address, bank info, credit card, and social security number. Especially to out of calling area calls, none 800 numbers callers with weird caller ID's and out of the blue calls. Seriously.
Report the calls to the appropriate authorities, Warn others, and beware. Ignore the calls. The caller ID is ALWAYS a dead giveway that it is a scam call. Be smart folks.
Never answer the phone when it is an out of state number that I don't recognize or an 800-855 etc number. I am so tired of these people bothering when they have no right to invade your privacy or try to scam someone out of hard earned money. Something should be done to stop them in their tracks. With all the technology that is available today you would think there would be. They are wasting their time with me, I will never answer them.
