After the guy transferred me to his supervisor (which was the same guy) he started reading me something, obviously scripted. I was like, "Okay. And...?" He said I would "be behind bars for 10 days" if I didn't take care of my "defaulted payday loan" immediately. I started to laugh, knowing full well it was a scam, and he yelled, "Don't laugh!" Then he hung up. I tried calling back because I wanted to mess with him but unfortunately I got a busy signal.
I got a call on my cell number and work # stating I was being arrested. Have my attorney ready. I asked what he was calling about and man kept yelling.
I am at work and they first called my cell and then my work number ( Lord knows how they got that) and threating me with being arrested for something in GA. I told them i had no idea and he questioned and then he was acting like he was transfereing me to someone else..all this is done in an INDIAN (India) accent. Then i hung up and he called back stating that "why did i hung up' I said because he is a fraud.
I just received a call stating that they are from Slater & Slater law firm and are collecting a debt with americancash.com - he could not give me a number for american cash until i made a payment. He stated that I owed $726.00 and I am due to be arrested at 11:00 tomorrow with a court date on Friday morning - i will be responsible for all court fees which will total over $5,000. He stated that I should have received paperwork in the mail, i told him i had not, however i did just move last week. I started to panic (ok, i am a little gullable) and asked if there is any way i can pay the balance now without being arrested. He put me on hold when he "checked with the lawyer" and came back and told me i will get a "one time pass" to pay it. He said i had to go to a walmart or kmart and get a green dot card and put the money on there adn call them back with the 14 digit number. TOTAL SCAM - be careful, don't do it! :(
