Offered to buy my sofa on line said he is sending a check by mail after it is cashed he will send someone to pick it up! He said he is out of town

I just had the exact same experience. They just offered to buy my couch off Craigslist with a check & arrange for pick up after it clears.

I had an ad on cl, This # text me wanting my item. Im in Asheville nc the # is ohio. (Hi I'm interested in the  xxxxxx  you have on craigslist for sale, is it still available response with the final price.) I think there looking for e-mails

I told them feel free to send cash & haven't heard back. Definitely a scam.
