Got a call from the same guy and he asked me about my computer. I cursed the guy out and hung up the phone. The guy actually tried to argue with me too, but I didn't give him a chance.
Have received 2 calls from 234-768-9658 about 2 weeks apart. Both callers had Indian accents and said they were from Microsoft. Said that my computer had reported fatal errors and that I needed to let him have control of my computer so he could fix it. Asked where he was located - Palo Alto CA asked street address & he didn't have one. I laughed at him then because I live near palo alto and told him if he worked there he would know his own address and that this was a scam & hung up on him. Today's call didn't get that far as I hung up as soon as he started his spiel. They just don't give up do they??
Caller definitely sounded like he was from India, said he was calling from Microsoft and my computer had been sending fatal error messages for a couple weeks and he was calling to fix them. I told him that Microsoft does not call people to tell them they are having problem and I know this is a scam so good-bye.
I had a similar call (probably same person) months ago.
Got a call from this number
they said they were from microsoft or windows or something, and said that there was something wrong with our computer. Knew it was a scam right away and hung up. Real companies do not call you about computer problems, it is up to you to purchase legitimate anti virus/computer protection software.
Obviously a scam.
just received a phone call from them, said my computer had problems, played along and he started to give me a serious of steps (which of course, I was NOT following) told him, I had to take a phone call, but that I wanted to continue the steps, to give me his number so that I could call him back. He gave me 845-241-1701 and I asked who he was with again and he said "Windows Support" and so I said "oh, so you're calling from Microsoft, that's who I should hear when I call you back, great!"
