The ONLY reason I answered this call is because the caller ID said Comcast, and I am a Comcast customer. She (Veronica) called me by name and inquired whether I still lived at --and she stated my address. I was immediately suspicious because Comcast KNOWS where to send the bill!!! so I asked if she was from Comcast. She said she is from Alternative Energy and something, something which I did not hear because I was shouting into the phone by this time. I get five to six of these stupid people calling me daily and I never ever answer an unknown number. I'm so mad at myself for breaking my long-standing record and fear that now these calls will increase. Oh, crap! I intend to call Comcast and register a complaint with them, as well. I think they should know.
On a side note, thank you to everyone who takes the time to post on 800notes. If ever there is a nagging doubt that maybe I should have answered one of these idiotic calls, there is usually great info here which assures me I did the right thing. Thank you.
Told me they could save money on my electric bill. They will be in area tomorrow to do a 12 point inspection on my house . Now I am worried it is just a way to get into my house. They Never said the company name . Just keep saying over and over that they work for the state of Florida . And they were going to lower my Energy bill
Go to the police station for your city and notify them of this call.
Ask them to describe how you should handle someone who does show up.
Ideally you could call the police and an officer will arrive and require the person to fully identify themselves, if the person hasn't run off while the patrol officer is responding.
I received an unsolicited call from someone saying they could save me money on my electric bill. When i told them i wasn't interested in solicitations and asked them to remove me from their list, they said this isn't a solicitation and that it's something my taxes are already paying for. I said i don't appreciate receiving unsolicitated calls at dinnertime and they said they don't give a [***] when i want to receive calls. I'm livid.
