Received a VM from 240-200-8624 stating that it was from the Investigation Un it of the IRS and I had an arrest warrant out for me. Called the number back and got ahold of a female with a Indian accent who said they were part of the IRS. Told her I would call back. Did the Google thing and find out it is just a scam.
A girl said on the phone that she was Esther Rose and she told me that she was a Investigator Officer and I have been audited. She knew the address and after arrested may also be deported. She said that I had violated three laws and today was my last day from the deadline. I had been informed with letter and this is just information. I would be sent to the Police Department for an arrest. She said that I owed to IRS an amount of $6853 which I had to pay.
Elsa Brown from the Investigation department from the IRS. Asking for physical address and if I don't call back in a couple of hours she will send my info over to the local police and they will come and arrest me on the charges. (No charges mentioned on vm)
I received same voice mail... who do we report this fraudulent calls to? This is ridiculous that they are allowed to continue. I must have received like 4 calls like this. There has to be some law that they are impersonating the IRS.
Heads up guy,
I just received a call from this number 240-200-8430 saying that they are calling from Investigation Department from IRS. There is a report that I'm going to be arrested and the police will be taking me to jail. Are you aware of that?; she asked. NO!! I replied. She continued; we sent you an arrest letter in the mail. Did you receive it. I answered NO! And I asked her are you a scammer? she hang up immediately.
So I went online and google that number and find out that there is a scamming report about that number. Probably trying to steal your money
