ID says Frederick, MD. This number calls almost daily, leaves no msg. I don't answer the phone when an unknown number shows up. Most likely it is a robocall or scam.
Yes, the caller ID name is bogus. The exchange number is a Rockville, MD number.
I've started to notice a trend with these numbers and the caller ID info.
If the name is a "city-town" and not a person or organization, it's a telemarketing scam.*
Also actual caller ID names are listed in "CAPITAL LETTERS" and not in "Upper-Lower Case Letters".
If you see a call listed on your caller ID and it's listed as "Frederick MD (240) 225-0241" or any other city, town, etc. in Upper-Lower Letters, it's fake and should be blocked.
So to sum it up, all location based calls listed in "Upper-Lower Case Letters" should be blocked.
* It should also be stated that telemarketers use CAPITAL LETTERS also in their caller ID info.
On the same day as this call came in I received a call from ISSUES AND ANSW (757) 769-7129
This is a consumer survey company posing as a political polling organization.
