This number called me SIX times today. They've called me periodically in the past but I never answer. I also get calls from a bunch of different numbers- the block list in my cell currently has over 30 numbers in it!
This number calls a Department of Defense number numerous times daily despite opting out from their database and informing them that it is a violation of Federal law to solicit a Government phone. They continue to harass me daily
Got this today, yet another of the home security system scam robocalls. For those who don't know how this scam works, they pretend to be selling home security systems to get your personal info and a credit card number. But there is no home security system from these people and they are nothing but a bunch of criminals. If you fell for the scam, cancel your credit card ASAP, as they'll be using it for fraudulent charges.
I didn't hang up on this one, but had fun confusing the hell out of the IVR system. Managed to keep it tying up a phone line for a good minute before it got so confused it hung up on me. That was one minute they couldn't try to scam someone with that line, so it was a minute well spent. If you want to join in, just give it nonsensical errors to the questions it asks. For example, when it asked if I had a home, I said "I own a yacht."
You can also play along till you get transferred to a live person then waste their time as much as possible. (Or just politely tell them how horrible a human being they are for participating in the scam. In my experience they won't hang up if you're not yelling at them, but try to "save" the call.) You can waste a LOT of their time, preventing them from scamming vulnerable people. (Sadly, a LOT of elderly fall for this type of scam.)
