This is an aftermarket auto extended warranty *scam*! 2 calls today from them from *different* area codes. Looking for someone that had an Infinity that the manufacturers warranty was about to run out. both times I [***] around with them to get info as to who they were calling for. Same dude both times. The other number from them was 732-807-5611. same background callcenter noise. my number is TN areacode yet the person they were calling for was in Brooklyn, NY. Obviously a Robo calling system. No way these guys are legit. Wanted me to buy their extended coverage. When I said they had already called early, but from 732 (New Jersey), they seemed quite "surprised". For grins, when she asked how many miles I had on it after 2 years, I told her 70,000. "Wow! You sure drive a lot of miles!" Then I told her I sold it, and she hung up on me. I have them blocked now. FYI.
Getting calls from this number numerous times a day, even on Sunday a.m. at 8. They don't even have the kindness of staying on the phone to tell you what they want. I am changing my phone number and turning this number into the BBB and reporting it to the local authorities for this phone area code. I heard that this does help and they track it from there.
I just received a call from this number. I called back & was directed to an answering service. It seems this company is targeting senior citizens. I answered the phone, a man started asking questions about my parents & the warranty on their car. I refused to let him speak to my parents and I started to question him, that's when he hung up on me. I called back & was directed to an answering service. I called the MD Better Business Bureau; a recording told me I need zip code to file a complaint. If anyone has a zip code or address for the Warranty Auto in Clinton, MD...Please contact the local BBC & law enforcement.
I kept getting phone calls for the past week, when I answered, the lady ask me if I am... I ask her who is it, tjen she hung up. I don't know where these people gets our phone number, but these companies are really annoying, and I think the phone number 1240-318-1602 is trying to sell something or get information from us!!!
Received a call from this number around 3:30. Don't know anyone in Maryland, but answered. I've gotten these calls before, and typically they just hang up and never say anything. This guy started talking finally, and I could tell he wanted to sell me a car warranty. I interrupted him and said "I'm not interested, and can you remove me from your list?" That caught him off guard. He said "what??" I said, "I'm not interested in your warranty, and would you please remove me from your list?" He mumbles something, and I hear him talking to someone else in the room, "huh? This guy says he's not interested and wants off the list. What do I do?". That's when I hung up and added the number to my block list.
Aggressive scam artist trying to solicit personal info to sell you auto warranty coverage. They cleverly advertise themselves as "handling warranty claims for GM". This is not affiliated with the GM recommended warranty extension underwritten by Ally. I feel bad for the unsuspecting folks that fall for this. Right now trying to figure out appropriate authorities to alert, state and federal (MD number calling OH)
