100% scam. Along with the neighbors we received calls and then a couple of days later two unsavory looking strangers were seen slowly walking thru our neighborhood taking notes, they quickly walked away when we asked what they were up to, jumped into a parked car and drove away.
They are very persistent on the phone to case your house. That's why they jokingly refer to your "case number." But they really want to know when the house is empty, what financial wealth you have, how many males live there to defend the home, etc. in order to plan thefts, breakins and home invasions.
I think this is a scam and I have gotten several calls saying to call the census bureau if you check the census bureau website they have no such no and do not call people
yes total scam have called me several times from different nos there is a way to turn them in go to www.fcc.gov if you give info they will use it against you identity theft break in etc
