Some middle eastern guy called claiming that I had been awarded a $14,000 grant and wanted my debit or checking account information to deposit the money. I played like I didn't have it and asked could they send it to me as a check. This is definitely a scam. They asked for no paperwork at all. I believe that if people give their account information, they are probably sucking money out of the accounts. Don't be naive, this is definitely a scam.
Stated he was Edward Green calling from the government and that 200 people (1 being myself) have been given a grant of $14,566. (I continued with the call to humor myself) but anyhow, he mentioned The National Institute of Health, I was given an ID# and another phone # 301-371-2089 the grant officer call back #. He wanted my debit card so he could put the funds on it. I said no thank you and said nicely that I believe it's a scam well he decided to be very verbally rude calling me all kinds of curse words so I hung up. He called me back 2x to leave me horrible voice messages. This is an obvious scam so stay away from him. I haven't called the 2nd # but I can not believe he actually called back to continue with his verbal rudeness, he made horrible sexually explicit comments as he stated I wasted his time.
I too have been called by a Edward Green and given the same spill . He asked for either a bank account or a pre paid card. I happen to have a pre paid card I rarely if ever use . So I gave it to him . I am suppose to call 301-371-2089 and speak to his supervisor and give my name his name, and the number they gave me. I called no one answered . Called back and was disconnected after one ring. I decided to look them up and ran across michelles comments
