I also just got a voice mail message from these scam artists at 240/493-8878. I know I have nothing to worry about because I have a Pin # for the IRS when I file taxes (so they know it's me) because I have been the victim of ID theft for over seven years and a fraudulent tax return was filed two years ago. This is a scam!!!
Got a message from this number (240 493-8878) today. Details of the message is exactly as described in other users descriptions. Convenient timing right after the 15th.
A man by the name "Agent McCoy" called my moms landline today around 3pm from the number 240-493-8878. He said that there is a criminal case against her and she can pay the amount of 2342.85 online to make the claim go away. He asked for the last four of her social security and said she can be deported if she doesn't get it taken care of. She is 65 years old and almost had a heart attack! We have to report this every time it happens. We need to get to the bottom of it!!!
