SCAM! I received a call stating they were card member services and they were contacting me in reference to lowering my current credit card interest rate. The first question the woman asked was " do you owe $3000 or more on my current credit cards?" I replied with "NO" and she hung up on me. I tried to call back the number 240-560-2853, but the number would not accept incoming phone calls. I can only assume this is some type of scam.
Got a call on 1/13/2010 around 12:54 a recording stating it to be a call from card member services and to press 1 to speak to an agent. I pressed 1 only because I was pissed and wanted to know what company had my cell number, because I don't give it out to businesses that's why I have a house line... So when this person gets on the line their like so are you interesteed in lowering your interest rate to 6.99 and I asked what company is this, they replied card member services so I said card member services for what company they say well mam were card member services for about 600 companies so I was like oh yeah well can you remove my number from your calling list and they promptly hung up. Sounds like scammers to me!
