This number claims to be from the IRS arrest line stating that you must call immediately before the IRS takes court action against you. Folks, the IRS does not personally call you if you have tax problems. The IRS will send you a written letter, and when you are really in trouble,i.e., fail to pay your tax bill on time, they will send you a certified letter that you must sign for. Total scammers. Do not return the call.

Called and then hung up . I returned call to phone #240 758 8592 A man with heavy Indian accent advised me he was at the IRS in Washington DC and I told him I was calling the State Attorney and the idiot hung up
I received a call this morning from the same number. Recorded voice said the call was from the IRS and IRS is filing a lawsuit against me, advised me to call back 240-758-8592. I did from another phone with a disguised outgoing number. Woman answered, thick accent, claimed her name was Derrick Johnson, I asked for her IRS employee number, she said "GS1401." I asked for location of her call center and she said 1111 Constitution Ave., Washington DC. I told her I was going to report the call to the IRS hotline and I hung up. FYI, you can report such scams at www.tigta.gov.
Got a message left on my machine at 8:42 a.m. about a final notice from IRS and that they are/have filed a case against me. Said to call 240-758-8592 regarding the file.
I so wanted to call them back and let them tell me they would send the police after me, but, I didn't.
P.S. to 800 notes: You need to add scam or B.S. call to you're call types!
