Same! 4 calls in 4 hours according to my CID and I called back and she answered with "Hello" I said hi, I received 4 calls from this number is this a business? She said "yes (pause, pause) this is IRS. I said "oh IRS who answers their phones with "Hello" she said yes, what do you want. I said you tell me. She asked my name, I said don't you have caller ID and can tell me that? I said well you caled this number. ...she interrupted and said ya you called me I don't know you.. and hung up... wth.?
My boyfriend received a phone message from 240-883-7203 - the content of the message indicated that the IRS had filed a lawsuit and they asked my boyfriend to call them back. I believe it is a fishing expedition to get private information i.e. a fraud since to my knowledge the IRS would contact someone by mail and not by phone if there was a lawsuit.
I received a call from this # this morning,she told me IRS had a lawsuit against me and I needed to pay $6k or the police would come to my house.I asked o speak to her manager or transfer me DIRECTLY to IRS and she hung up on me.I called back and the person kept picking up the phone and hanging up.THESE PPL ARE NOT THE IRS.IRS DOES NOT CONTACT PEOPLE BY PHONE.!! You will always receive a letter & they will prompt u to contact them
