TO: The owner of this number: Your telephone is calling my toll-free number. You are interfering with my business. You are restraining trade for my company.
My guess is that you must be using a automatic dialer.
I have had 23 calls in 7 days for origination number 248-536-6226 to our 800 number, how can I stop this. It is at all hours of the night. When answering the phone the is no one there, but when checking my call id, show a completely different number each time.
I have the same thing and received my bill! I am still stunned that AT&T won't look into this immediately. I had to wait over a month to get a bill covering the dates the phones started--now I can argue and file forms and complaints and so on. Ridiculous!
Great idea! I hope it works because I think my 800# has been hi-jacked. I have over 10 different phone numbers to contest (I work hard but not at 3:00am)--and I'm only half way done with my bill.
carol, same thing happening with me with my toll free number. Talked to Sprint long distance (my carrier). There were four different numbers being used..... 973-855-3475 (Newark, NJ), 786-315-4195 (Miami, FL), 248-536-6226 (Framington, MI) and 414-831-1002 (Milwaukee, WI) with different numbers showing on my caller id. Alot of "unknown" on the caller id. I asked Sprint about blocking the four numbers and they said they could do it for $100 each!! She called each of those numbers and they have been disconnected. However, I am still getting calls but can't see until my next billing what the rogue numbers are. She did tell me who the local phone companies were for those four phone numbers and suggested I call....Ovation Communications (Milwaukee), Phone Michigan (Farmington), Paetec Communications (Newark and Miami). I also filed an online complaint with the F.C.C. but want to call them and speak to someone about how this happens. I am giving this long explanation in case others want to tackle it as well.
