We received our MCI invoice and there are 18 calls from the 248-536-6226 (Farmington MI) and 19 calls from 414-831-1002 (Milwaukee WI). I called MCI asking for the fraud department because these telephone number are disconnected. That took her 20 minutes to do this only to find out MCI is connected to Verizon which is OK, but this process took 45 minutes. In order to get the credit on my account I have to bring my Vendor in and have them write a letter stating where the "breach" on my PVX? system is & to make sure it is in a secured location. Good Grief! I don't have anyone working at 12:09AM to do an inside theft on my 800#.
Same thing here all times of the day and night. I am with Verizon and am trying to get Verizon to block these numbers, 248-536-6226 & 414-831-1002. I am on the phone right now and Verizon is going to block both prefixes 248 & 414 from calling my toll free number.
received over $100 in toll charges from 248-536-6226 and 414-831-1002; IDT (long distance carrier) is balking at refund -- says we agreed to pay even though these calls are obviously fraudulent. I encourage consumers and businesses affected by this scam to light up the phones at the FCC and their state comm. governing agency.
We are getting phone calls all hours of the day and night from this number and one other number 414-831-1002 on our 800 number. We have had ATT tracking our number for a month and now I have my first phone bill we had 66 calls in August from these 2 numbers. The fraud unit of ATT is suppose to be working the case. They have more than 25 customers this same thing is happening to. I just had both Mich. and WI blocked from using my 800 number. The caller ID would show many different numbers that if we called back we would get a person belonging to that number who had not called us. This is called spoofing and it should be illegal. If someone can use my home telephone number to show up in your call i.d. and you get annoyed and call and tell me off then the FCC should be able to make spoofing illegal. We have recorded over 50 telephone numbers that was spoofed from these 2 numbers using a different number each time they called. Sometimes we would get a tone every few seconds and sometime only silence. Good luck getting this stopped.
IDT is my 800 service provider and they are not helping AT ALL in resolving the erroneous calls originating from these phantom numbers 248-536-6226 and 414-831-1002. Fees are being charged for calls supposedly lasting 30+ minutes arriving at 3:30am and on weekends when my business is closed. Calls to their drones at customer service are a waste of time.... anyone have a number for a thinking manager at IDT??? I think that this could be the basis for a class-action suit as they benefit monetarily from a known, reported and continuing fraud.
