These people got our numbers through a scam being run from overseas. Our information has now spread to many agencies. Many years ago I had inquired about a payday loan, we never took one, we just gave them our email address. They hacked into our hotmail and got all of our information too. 3 years later we began to get calls from very rude men, and one posed as the Attorney General and told me I was under arrest unless I paid 5729.82. He told me to be be ready to have someone bail me out of jail and went through the entire steps of this pending arrest. I asked them what this was for and he said it was a 400.00 payday loan. ( we never took one out) I asked how 400 turned into 5000 and he could not answer. I told him this was fraud. I asked what date the loan was taken out because I will pull up my bank records. He became frustrated and became speechless and hung up.These people have COLLECTED MONEY from unsuspecting Americans who believed them. One of the things they do is ask where you work and then threaten to call your employer. When I told him I was self employed, once again he went silent, as he could not scare the life out of me with the threat of calling my employer. Tell your loved one NEVER EVER give their credit card out to a BILL COLLECTOR. Because they had my info (SS) we got calls from a fake a agency trying to collect on my Student Loans! You will notice that the people calling (like this one) from (FAKE) Bank Services, that, some time in your life you have had an account or inquired about a loan or credit of some sort. They have gotten into all these data bases. We now do not answer the phone for ANY number we do know. They can leave a message if it's important! Last year I kept getting phone calls from my area code, so I called one of the numbers. A woman picked up and we determined that we both were getting calls from the impostors and NOW they had the technology to CALL PEOPLE and the caller ID show up as OUR VERY OWN NUMBERS. Don't call the toll free numbers either, they are overseas and we get CHARGED by our phone company! Just don't pick up the phone if it is not a number you know. They will cave in on themselves one day.
This is YET another SCAM! The caller was VERY RUDE when I asked what it was about. Then he proceeded to tell me to get off the phone and not waste his time with questions.
