This number is 100% a scam. First: I have never been a Verizon customer. I recently got a new number and it's possible it used to belong to a Verizon customer. Second: I receive this phone call once a day, every day and it's an automated voice mail. A true Verizon rep would either text about an issue or not leave an automated message. Third: I called both the Michigan number (248-915-3797) and the 800 number left in the message (1-800-249-2462) and they both go directly to the Verizon message retrieval system. The message gave the option to press 3 if this was not the person they were trying to reach. Then it gave another 800 number to call for more information (800-754-0961). This new 800 number is also a scam--search it on this site and it comes up claiming to be Verizon Financial Services. This number is not a valid Verizon number. Real account issues will not take you to an automated retrieval system. Fourth: My good friend is a Verizon rep and none of the numbers are valid Verizon support numbers. His direct boss called the numbers and says it's a scam. I have reported this issue to Verizon directly.
DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION TO THESE NUMBERS!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE PHISHING FOR YOUR INFORMATION. IF YOU HAVE TO CONTACT VERIZON REGARDING YOUR ACCOUNT, CALL THEM FROM THE NUMBERS PROVIDED ON YOUR BILLING STATEMENTS.
This # was coming up and I put a block on this #. My phone carrier provider advised me not to answer or respond to it. You too should block any suspicious #s. Don't try calling to get a response.
This is NOT a Verizon Wireless number. This number called my phone 16 times today. I then called Verizon directly and they stated it WAS NOT one of their phone numbers and all Verizon Wireless phone call should come from "Unavailable" or a toll free number. Verizon is aware of the situation and believes it is a phishing scam
I have just started receiving these calls this week as well they have avg'd 4 times a day and on weekends to. I have not answered them but it always leaves a Voice Mail and when I check it, its just a split second of music then cuts off. There is something very strange about the whole deal not to mention it is costing me minutes to check the voice mails.
It seems very suspisious to me and my guess is someone is phishing for legit phone numbers to Spam you with Text Msg's later as I have started gettin more of that lately.
