This was a solicitation to help "kids burned in fires". The guy used my first name only and acted like we were old friends. I hung up after a few seconds.
We got that same call and my husband let them send an envelope for a donation. I threw it out when it came. Didn't realize it was the same number that generated other "charitable" solicitations.
Call 800-921-2022 and tell them to remove you from their list. They ARE a scam. The police foundation they supposedly represent DOES NOT EXIST. When I mentioned this to her, the woman who answered VERY QUICKLY assured me that she would remove my number. If they do not, they will have the attourney general after them.
These fund raising folks are a complete & total fraud .Do not cooperate with them and turn them into the FCC if they continue to call once you ask them to stop. They keep most of the money they collect for themselves-just another business for profit!!
