We have received phone calls from this number many times over the last couple of weeks. I plugged the name into google and found this site. I called the number that people have left on here and I called them and asked them to remove me from their list. I am on the do not call list and should NOT be receiving phone calls. When I told the man that answered that I wanted to be removed he asked me when he called, I said many times. He seemed puzzled and asked me what number showed up on my caller ID. Then he really seemed puzzled. If I receive anymore calls after this I could press charges for harassment.
The way they get your numbers is the buy them from a company called “phone genie”. They initially call you and say they “are not trying to sell you anything and are not solicitating for donations” that they are just “conducting a quick 30 second questionnaire in your area”. Then they ask you question like: 1) do you feel there is an air pollution problem in your area 2) does anybody in your house suffer from allergies 3) do you have any pets. At the end of the phone call they tell you that their company does daily drawings and if they can contact you at this number if you have won a prize.
This is a lie. There is no drawing. Everybody who says yes will get at least one phone call back. They will continue to call back until they get an answer (even if its 3-6 months later). They will try to only speak to the person who they talked to because they have built a rapport with that particular person and they more apt to agree to have a representative to come to your home and bring you your free gift. At the same time they want to get your “opinion” on one of their products. They are really trying to sell you a vacuum. They also tell you that the appointment will only take about 60 minutes or so. However, the actual appointment will last more like 1 and half hours to 2 hours!
The best way to get them to leave you alone is to ask to be taken off the list or ask that they do not cal you back. By law they can’t cal you back (and they know this). The gifts are nice and might be worth your time. Also, I have talked to some people who own the product and apparently it is a very nice product. I just wish the company didn’t have to be so slimly and lie to you to get you to be a customer.
