They claim to be from IRS they will be calling for weeks leaving threatening messages about IRS they have warrants and they want you to pay outstanding balances or you're going to face them in court they are rude and aggressive.
How you can be so sure then that people can't get your address the same way they find info about you .
If there are so many people reporting this number why no agency takes action.
They threatened me too saying the its taking me to court an I owe back taxes she got loud on the phone when I said irs doesn't contact u by phone nor threatened u on phone it's all done by certified mail idk how these people got my number
Yes, this number is in fact a scam and, as Elspeth stated, there is a means to report the scam, of which I have. They stated they reviewed my IRS submissions over the last 5 years and stated, due to an error, I owe over $5K. They stated they send a notification to my mother's address (all my tax returns were completed by H&R Block, which reflected three different addresses since moving out of my mother's address) but since I did not respond to the mail, I was being sued by the IRS. They stated I needed to pay now and that if I did not armed federal agents would be responding to me residence soon.
