I just got two messages this morning from the "IRS" stating that this is my last notice before they file a lawsuit.
Of course my heart started pounding in terror instantly. But then I started thinking. The IRS doesn't file a lawsuit. They send you a warning LETTER, then they just garnish your wages. Take it right out of your paycheck. They don't mess around. Also, they didn't mention my name and though they mentioned there was a case number they didn't say what it was. Last strike against this company: they are not allowed to leave this kind of information on an answering machine. They would say this was an URGENT MATTER and I NEED TO CALL BACK.
I'm also pretty stinkin' sure that the IRS' caller ID doesn't say Auburn, Wa.
Computer generated message called my work number and stated that I needed to call the IRS at 253-218-1892 due to a law suit that the IRS was claiming against me. When I called the number a man with a heavy India accent answered phone.... Could not answer anything about a law suit... I would not give our any info

Same deal. Phone call at 5:30 AM, recorded message, "IRS, urgent, lawsuit". I called the number back, and guy that answered also had a heavy accent (though I don't think it was Indian, maybe more Middle Eastern), and he asked for my phone number. I said, "You called me, what do you want?" He again demanded my phone number, which I still refused to give him and asked the name of the company. He said, "James Parker company" or something to that effect, and then said, "I have no time for you!", and hung up. I've received 3 more calls since that time, all the same recorded "IRS threat" message.
