my sister answered my cell phone since it was a local number. He wouldn't tell her the name of the company except that it goes by the acronym ASAP. When she asked what it stood for, he wouldn't answer her. He then asked that I call back a toll free number 8883071056. Why would they give me a toll free number when it's a local number that they supposedly called on? Needless to say, I don't owe any company called ASAP and not calling them back.
There is a lady named Maria Perez and she wont identify who she is with only that there has been a file claimed against me and she needed to send my official notification documents to my place of employment and she gave me a claim number and a phone number to call the attorney handling the case which was 866-268-7947. She will not listen to me when I say not to call my work and stop harrassing me. She says "well you dont answer your cell phone". IM AT WORK LADY!! She even went as far as CALLING MY MOTHERS HOUSE 3 TIMES yesterday and had my mom all worried about me. HOW she got these numbers I have no idea. Every time she calls me it comes thru as a different number. Here are the numbers I have received just in case someone else is getting these as well: 779-232-1136; 802-881-0047. I am receiving tons of calls from all kinds of numbers that do not leave voice mail. So I'm sure she is calling from some of my others too. THIS SUCKS. She's gonna get me fired.
Print up this thread and give to your HR Dept and/or manager - you should not be in trouble for being harassed by a scammer! Your workplace can also call the FTC and state's Attorney General office and file complaints about this. If you really had a court summons, guess what? You wouldn't be getting calls, nor would your mother - the process server would just show up, unannounced. Please do report your caller to the FTC, FBI and your state's Attorney General. Follow the steps in what you need to know. A legitimate debt collector agency should not have a problem with giving you a real business name and address you can google and verify via google street view, BBB etc.
