I answered this call today and since I wasn't busy at the moment, I listened to as much of the script as I could understand. The caller told me I was randomly chosen to receive $7,000 from the government! All I need to do is call back on the number he gave me (235-220-9980) for further instructions, then go to the local Walmart to pick up my check. Wow, my lucky day! All this because I have no recent tickets, no recent bankruptcy and I owe no past due taxes (I wish). All this from the United States Government. When I asked which Dept was offering this generous grant, I was told it is the United States Government Dept. Ok, cool. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth I'm thinking. I had a hard time understanding this guy with his heavy accent but he was able to verifiy my name, correct address and phone number. He did however ask if I was employed, what I planned to do with the money. Then he asked my age, I lied of course. I'm a woman! I haven't had time to call back yet. I started thinking I don't really need an extra $7,000 today, plus, our government needs every penny they can get! LOL! Funny scammers! Do people actually fall for this kind of stuff? I Suppose so or they wouldn't be calling. Sad really.

Got exactly same call this morning. A guy with a thick Indian accent saying he was from the United Federal Grant Department and I was randomly selected for a $7,000 government grant. He confirm my city and state, and asked me to go retail store for something. I told him that I'm not able to do it today, so he gave me confirmation ID#AB125, and a number (253)220-9980 to call back when I have chance to go to the store.
I believe government won't hire anyone with thick Indian accent to call people, especially when he keep mentioned I earn $7,000 grant, like almost in every sentence.
I'm very appreciated for all of you here to share your experience, so I lean how this fraud working.
My son for a similar call from this number claiming he had a 7000 grant waiting for him. All he had to do was send them 300 through Money gram. I called the number and got no answer. Someone called me back with a accent. I asked them what company they were calling from they hung up.
