If you go online and register a complaint with the FCC, if they get enough complaints, they will investigate. The address is http://www.fcc.gov/complaints My number is on the DNC list, and you can file a complaint at that website too, but I've found the FCC to be more responsive.
I find that each time you go to FTC to complain you get more calls from Telemarketers. Who knows the FTC is collecting numbers so that they can sell to make money. In this economy they don't care how they get money or raise money. Wish someone would do something to these people. Track them down!
Re. "the FTC is collecting numbers so that they can sell to make money", if the FTC needed numbers to sell, wouldn't it be simpler and easier for the FTC to sell arbitrary software-generated numbers?
You're stupid for real if you would think the FTC would need you to place a complaint in order to sell your number...this post is obviously by a scammer or spammer attempting to get you to think that it's a waste of time to file a complaint...Even better, file a suit in small claims court, it costs very little, it's easy to do and you could be awarded up to $5,000. per incident...I do it all day long and have made a living out of these claims against ignorant callers who violate the law...average suit payout to date=$1,170!
Would luv 2 hear more about how 2 do this! If we all did it, those calls would def stop. What is avg cost 2 file? Where would you file? What info do u need 2 file, besides the number u were called from? How many times do they have to call b4 u can file? Any other pertinent details would be appreciated. Thx!
