Received a call from Pacifictel (on caller ID) today from phone number 503-902-8479, same area code as you. It was a recorded message about how my credit card rate was about to go up, to press 3 on my phone for more information. Never heard of this company, hung up. Maybe they are trying to establish you, and me, as a contact. Scary they would mention a Credit Card rate......no name for card given.
We too received a call just today from the same number 503-902-8479 in regards to an account we had with them that the rate was going up. They hung up on us when I asked what account was that. What the hell is up with that? Called back and said to press 3 if you wanted to be placed on their do not call list.
I did exactly what you did and the operator slammed the phone in my ear when I tried to ask which card specifically she represented. Doesn't the some gov't agency monitor these calls. I am contacting the AT in PA regarding this invasion of privacy. Anyone else in PA should do the samething!!!
We get the same calls from Pacifictel & also one about the FBI. I called our phone company and they said for
$3 a month they would put unwanted calls on a list. When Pacifictel or any unwanted calls again they would get a recorded message "that this number was NOT taking any calls." I may just pay the $3 to stop getting these damn calls. They also suggested reporting it to the Sheriff's office.
I received the same call reg. credit card rate from 503-902-8479 Pacifictel, several times now, the one time I answered the girl told me to go to my bank and have my rates lowered, when I did the bank told me it was fraud and I told the bank they should investigate, who knows if they get enough complaints maybe they will.............
