Called on Sept 3, 2015 at 10:03 AM, since I don't pick up calls that do not display someone I know, it went to my answering machine. They left NO MESSAGE. I later called them back, it is a recording, they DO NOT IDENTIFY what company they are, ONLY have a message to press 1 to be removed.
My phone numbers are and have been on the Federal "Do Not Call List" for years. Apparently these scammers DON'T care. I am a disabled Marine, and don't appreciate these companies IGNORING Federal Law. On the few occasions I have answered the phone, not knowing it was telemarketers, I have suggested that if they want to break the law, they should TRY doing this in countries like Syria, North Korea or China. That if they did, they either wouldn't wake up in the morning or end up in some remote, dark prison, never to be heard from again.
As I have seen in the news, doing any thing, including "Pressing 1 to be removed", lets them know it is a working number and they then add you to other calling lists.
From reading the reviews it appears to be others have spoken with them, and they claim to be GE Home Security, claiming that if they can put a sign in your yard, they will give you a FREE home security system.
I did get a call from a company claiming to do the same thing, earlier this year, when I said that I would like some information in the mail, they said they didn't have anything to provide that way. They wanted my address to install, but I gave them my MAIL SERVICE address instead, NOT my real home address. Have never gotten anything in the mail from them.
I have blocked them, but they always call from other numbers, which I also add to my "blocked list".
With phone number "spoofing" (not the real number they call from), it is difficult to track them down, OR stop them. I wish the FCC and Federal Government would crack down on them and "SPOOFING" of phone numbers.
I PAY for an UNLISTED AS well as a NON-PUBLISHED phone number, I PAY for Caller ID, I AM on the Federal "Do NOT Call List", YET these SCAMMERS still call, annoy and bother me. I am tired of it. Even though I have a Cell Phone, I only use it for emergencies as in being late to a doctors appointment, YET these SCAMMERS also call on my cell phone - which I thought was also ILLEGAL (unless you have done business with them before). Not even my doctors have my cell phone number, ONLY my caregiver has it.
I am FED UP and DISGUSTED. Our Federal government is broken, and Congress only fights between the two parties BUT does NOTHING to take care of the Nation's business or protect consumers from crap like this.
Female asking if i had a security system and I would get a free one by putting a small sign in our yard. Lets see what happens when they try to come into my home and the alarms goes off. These scammers need to get smarter.
Claims to be a Jeff Gibson and is with a home security firm offering to provide me with a free security system for allowing a small sign to be placed in my yard. Also wanted me to confirm that I don't have an existing security service - I hung up.
