If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them. Tell 'em no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.
You have to get tuff with these people because, being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking). the only thing they understand.
I rec a call from this supposed Mr. Monroe today demanding that I start to pay him money for some debt I supposedly owed, and that I knew nothing about, I tried to speak and he was extremely rude, stating I could not hear anything if I was going to even so much as try and speak, I simply told him I wanted proof mailed to me if there was any existing account as I did not know of one, he was again rude, then I hung up, He in turn started calling my family making threats to have my children taken away and stating someone would need to pay my bail as I was going to jail the following day, I quickly cal an Attorney and informed him of what happened, he said to call back and inform him to not ever call my family again and to only correspond through US mail, he called back changing his whole story, and when I asked for dates of said debt and when said mailings were done he got all huffy, stating Oh my gosh, I stated send it in the mail and expect harassment charges as I already knew it was a scam and my attorney was now handling it
I just received a call today from Mr. Monroe telling me I had a pending court date for 3/4/16 @ 2:45p. He left 2 messages back to back and sounds like he's reading a script. First off why didn't the courts send me a letter and if I owed money to someone where is the letter stating the date and to whom I owed. I fell for something like this years ago but I will not do it again. I have blocked the number
This "Jonathon Monroe" persona appears on 800notes from other numbers with the Reed White CID. Which is most likely RW and Associates. Long history of scamming on 800notes. Using slightly different CIDs. Ignore and block all calls from this group in whatever manifestation you come across. This "Monroe" character is a seriously bad actor.
