I received the exact same call saying the IRS is filing a law suit and has issued an arrest warrant for me. Considering I've never got one thing in the mail about making any mistakes on my takes this is obviously a scam!!
I was offered 7,800 dollars saying it was for Loyalty Grant Money, but I had to pay 250 dollars to receive it, but be reimbursed with the initial money. Said it would be sent to Wal-mart for me to collect while he was on the phone with me. Said his name was Patrick Hill. How do I find out if its a scam.
Got the exact same call today and when I told "Patrick" I thought it was a scam he became very defensive. I questioned him as to why I would have to pay $250 to get $7800 if the grant money was for me and he he just kept repeating the same script he was reading from. Thick accent and hard to understand and kept congratulating me on this "huge amount of money" I was to receive! Ya right!! I just told him I didn't have the money and he insisted I get the money ASAP and to call him back because he was the only one that could help me collect this money! What a bunch of hoopla!!!
I received a call from 2024564545 from a man who seemed to have an Arabian accent.. He told me to call 2536565109 to claim $7000 in federal grant which I wouldn't have to pay back... When I called the number they told me I neede to go to the nearest walgreens and put 200 on a card and then they would western union me the money.... I think it's a scam...
Totally a scam, I just got the exact same phone call. First off, why would a government so much in debt randomly give away $7000 to 50,000 families? Then there was the fact that they ask you to give them your info, also that you have to call someone else who you would probably also have to give your personal info to. The icing on the cake, of course, was that they can only give you the money through either western union or direct deposit. Definitely a scam. How do we report these numbers to the police?
