Just got a call from this guy today! Number is from WA state not DC. This number is from outside some house across from Dave's Complete Auto Repairs (Lyle St/ Alley). Dave's is ok, but the neighbor across the st. is a scam artist. Said all the same as above and that I should call to get my cash or direct deposit. After finding this page and using reverse lookup I knew this was a huge scam.
i am going to return the call and see what they say... brb... they gave me number to call above and a pick up money number then they put me on hold to verify my grant...$7800, Federal Grant Dept.. go to the walmart mart store and call them back. its a total scam i never went to walmart. but i asked why i could not just contact the FGD instead of calling her back. she then said did i want to cancel the offer. I said i just wanted to know if she was going to charge me for this grant and she said yes $250 dollars... i wonder if i do provide them with the $20 what they would in fact give to me. But don't have $250 to waist on a potential scam
A guy with a thick Indian or Pakistani accent claiming to be with the U.S. Treasury Dept. Says that because I pay taxes and bills on time that the government has chosen me to receive $7800. Pretty sure it's a scam, but it was kinda scary because he knew my zip code and date of birth.
I also recv'd call from guy with very thick Indian accent, had trouble understanding but they wanted me to call 253-843-6230 to claim my money that the government was giving me for paying my taxes on time and having no criminal record! I though, oh sure the government going to give me money, lol. The government only takes money unless you are an illegal or you don't work and you get welfare! Right away I searched the number on the internet and it led me here, I am very suspicious of anyone saying they are giving me money for nothing!
I just got a called from this guy who had a Indian accent hardly speaks English and told he was from the treasury department. And to call 2538436230 about a free grant so I said ok send to my house n he said it has to be through Walmart,western union. I said I don't have that where I live he if I had a saving or checking PayPal I said I don't have none of that either. I look I work for the government I'm recording everything you are saying and I'm tracking your number as we speak. Mind you he was so calm i said send to my address. I hang up the phone I knew it was a scam. And the bad thing s some people really fall for this smh
