got the same call ,but they say they were Secure checks. They wanted my ss# and pay off a bad check. We had none out there., because we pay cash. They hung up. They did not know my name. AND i DID NOT GIVE IT TO THEM .
Have absolutely no idea what this call is all about. A claim filed against me? What claim? Called the number. 2 people used to have this number - must be for them. Said they would remove my number from the log/file.
Got a call about a 'Certified Notice of Intent' against me. Sounds like a debt collector. Must be a wrong number. This number used to belong to someone else.
Be Aware- calls from this # supposedly Credit First. I get repeated calls from this number. I strongly believe it’s a phishing scam as they are extremely general in their message left, yet they use the type of language scammers use to frighten people. A claim based upon your "social security number” but no name used. I finally called them and told the person who answers I would only give the number they called and nothing more and that I suspected this was a scam or at the very least, you have the wrong number. He supposedly looked it up and then said this message was for a ____ ___ (he gave me the name supposedly which a claim ’s office would never do). He said he would remove this number. I still feel it was a scam. I also looked up Credit First in Waco, TX (that’s where 254 area code is) and could find No company called Credi First which is the name they gave. Be aware!
