Have received several calls today from "Y CONFIRM ORDERS". The telephone number on my caller ID is 1-269-477-2157. I have received these calls before but never answered them. Out of curiosity I called the number back and the message was that they were calling me to confirm my order but not to worry if I missed their call they would send the order anyway. Haven't ordered anything recently so I figured it was a mistake. When they called back again I answered the call. A very loud voice asked for me by name and proceeded to tell me that because of a "recent purchase" I had made I was going to receive a VISA card for $125 in gas rewards. He began to ask me questions that made me believe he was phishing for information. I told him that I was not comfortable with any of this and that I was going to report this call as a scam and then hung up the phone. I believe this to be a scam and by the questions the caller was asking identity theft would have been the outcome.
Received a call at 5:33pm today. Guy said he was VISA, that he noticed I'd made a purchase lately and did I want to get $120 in gas rebates, that it would only cost me $2.95 shipping. I said I didn't use much gas, that I rode a scooter and bicycle and that also, I didn't really know who he was. I kept asking who he was and he'd slur something about VISA services and quickly go back to being shocked that I didn't want free gas, then basically hung up on me.
Caller: Visa
Call Type: Telemarketer
I have 2 missed calls from this number in Michigan. I did answer a call from 616-613-2054 which gave the same spiel kyra received. I turned it down as it didn't sound legitimate. I've had a total of 4 calls from Michigan with this same offer in the last 2 days.

I answered one of these calls and started asking my own questions before the person could get started. She said she got my number from the internet. I asked where ... couldn't give me a specific answer, just "you made a request for information". I kept grilling her, politely, but forcefully, until she was frustrated and said I'd be put on their "do not call" list. I still get called every night at 8:30ish, but luckily it's on my cell, so it's blocked and goes straight to voicemail. I thought I heard somewhere that once you actually talk to them ask them not to call again, if they persist you can pursue it with the police as harassment.
